Catherine House is our brand-new student residence in Portsmouth, found in the heart of the city centre, it’s the perfect place for students who wish to be within walking distance of everything.
Catherine House is located in the centre of Portsmouth, it neighbours Portsmouth and Southsea train station, and is just 10 minutes walk from the University of Portsmouth.
This striking building has a sky lounge on the top floor with breathtaking views across Portsmouth and The Solent.
More than 830 students live here every year.
Some live together in shared flats, where they each have a private bathroom but share a kitchen and lounge. Others choose a studio so they have everything to themselves. The choice is yours.
Social and fun
Our common room, where there are comfy sofas, TV, free pool tables, foosball, and ping pong tables make this the perfect relaxation space.
But if you need to work instead of unwinding, the ground floor study room has plenty of desk space and built-in charging points.

A booking can be cancelled for free if you have failed to obtain the required qualifications to get into your university of choice.
A booking can be cancelled for free because of the ongoing COVID-19 situation
If you sign a Tenancy Agreement for a semester 2 or 3 beginning after the 1st January 2022, you may cancel your Tenancy, by giving notice in writing or by e-mail to the Residence Manager at the Property, with no penalty up until 15 November 2021 or 8 weeks before the start of your agreement whichever is the shortest. Once we receive such a notice, we will confirm receipt, cancel your Tenancy and will refund your Advance Rent Payment of £250.00, together with any other payments of Rent you may have made.

Victoria Park (the oldest green space in the city) is just over the road, the Cascades Shopping Centre and Tesco Superstore are only a two-minute walk away,
Portsmouth & Southsea railway station is literally next door, and then the main University of Portsmouth campus is a seven-minute walk at most.

Good to know
We don’t take deposits for any of our student accommodation. Instead, you’ll need to pay an advance rent fee which will go towards your second rent payment.
If you need to arrive out-of-hours please let your residence support team know with as much notice as possible to make sure we’re available to help.

In times of uncertainty and your peace of mind, we recommend you select a flexible rate with free cancellation. If your plans change, you can always cancel free of charge until the cancellation expires.

We can only accept full-time students.
To live with us whilst studying at University, you will need to be 18 or older.
We don’t allow smoking inside your residence, but you’re free to smoke outside.
